Volunteers are all smiles during the Spring Bake Sale held on May 18

The Spring Bake Sale and the first Honor Stone Ceremony are the first of many events to be held during The Highground’s busy season.

The Vietnam Veterans Reunion will be held at The Highground and will include a static Huey exhibit, courtesy of the Vietnam Veterans Association Post 331, the “Vietnam Experience” exhibit provided by Carl Bogar Jr. with Historic Military Impressions and an exhibit of military vehicles provided by Don Anibas. The Highground will also welcome Doug Bradley, co-author of We Gotta Get Out of This Place: The Soundtrack of the Vietnam War. Weather permitting, The Highground will prepare for the approach of the UH-1H Huey. Lunch will be provided at no cost to Vietnam Veterans and one guest who have registered for the event prior to July 31.

The Highground thanks the volunteers, guests and volunteer bakers for making this event a success. Baked goods were provided by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 153, Sue Budik, Patty Schwoch, Linda Berg, Helynn Schufletowski, Marla Raine, Julie Simak and Carol Shea. The Fall Bake Sale is scheduled for Saturday, October 5.
